The game counts plays anonymously, and only if you say yes when it asks on your first visit. Signing in with Google is your choice: without it there is no name and no account. The game never keeps your email, shows no advertising, and sells nothing.
What is collected, after you say yes
- A random number your device makes the first time you play. It is not linked to your name, your phone number or anything else about you.
- What happens in the game: the arenas and levels you play, wins and losses, the waves you reach, the pieces you place and upgrade, how long you play, the help pages you open, errors in the game, and how fast your device draws the pieces.
- Your device, in broad strokes: its kind (for example Android, iPhone or Windows), the browser, the screen size, and whether the game is installed.
- The country your connection comes from, as our host Cloudflare reports it. Your IP address is not stored.
- How you found the game, once, on your first visit: a Share link, a link we posted (for example on Reddit), or the name of the site you came from (only its name, never the page or anything about you there).
What you send yourself
- Feedback: the message you write, with the arena and wave you are on. Please do not write personal details in it.
- A save code: if you made one in an earlier version, a copy of your progress is kept under it, so another device can load it. Anyone who has the code can load that progress.
- A Share link: when you share a result, the link holds the result (the arena, the level, the wave or lives) and, if you are signed in, your nickname. The link itself is not kept on our servers.
- Testers invited with a personal link: the game also notes which screens you spend time on and the result of each wave, and keeps your answers to the tester questionnaire.
If you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional; the whole game plays without it. If you sign in, Google tells the game who you are, and the game keeps:
- Your Google account number (an id Google gives each account) and your name on Google. Only the maker of the game sees your name, on a private page; no other player does.
- A nickname you choose. Other players see it on the daily challenge board. You can change it any time.
- Your daily challenge results (your best wave and lives left each day), for the board.
- A copy of your progress (stars, pieces, medals, your fire), so any device you sign in on can pick up your game.
- Which devices (the random number above) you signed in on, so the game can tell your devices apart.
Google's sign-in window says it shares your email and picture. The game does not keep them.
Delete my account in the game's Settings (Account) deletes all of the above at once. The progress on your device stays on your device. A sign-in that is not used for 400 days ends by itself.
Why
To see where the game is too hard, too easy or confusing, and to fix what breaks.
Where it is kept, and for how long
On Cloudflare's servers, which host the game. Game events and feedback are deleted after 180 days, daily challenge results after 60 days. A save code is deleted after a year without use.
Your progress and settings stay in your browser's storage on your device. They leave it only if you sign in, or make a save code.
What is not done
- No advertising, and no tracking across other sites or apps.
- Nothing is sold or shared with anyone, apart from Cloudflare, which runs the servers, and Google, which checks who you are when you sign in.
Your choice
Tap No thanks when the game asks on your first visit, or switch Anonymous stats off in the game's Settings (Privacy) at any time. What was waiting on your device is deleted, and nothing more is sent. You can switch it on again the same way.
